I can't blame the ashby. that is ingenious and plentiful and the staff is very polite, and attentive, but not in their face.

good atmosphere/ excellent service and attentive staff, which was very courteous to add to 2 additional seats when the venue was booked. eating was amazing / good timing for eating arriving and beaufil decor. many thanks for the beautiful and wonderful service of the staff. very recommended for the family to go.

The Ashby has beautiful decor that's modern and has a warm feel to it.To start we ordered a garlic bread and pork belly bites. The pork belly bites were a little overcooked and in my opinion, overpriced at $18 for 3 small pieces.For mains my son ordered the pasta special, Chicken and Bacon Ravioli, and I ordered the Main of the Day, Atlantic Salmon.My salmon was cooked perfectly, however the garlic prawns were very salty.The staff were friendly and attentive.Overall a pleasant experience.
My family had a wonderful time here visiting my brother. Brett and Lauren treated us to a fantastic time and were extremely welcoming and kind. I cannot speak more highly of their friendliness. Two absolute stars of the show and are a credit to the bar restaurant. Great food and drink available. Brett and Lauren will live long in our memory. All the best for the future and when we visit again we will definitely be back. Thank you.
I asked for a medium steak on the ‘Scotch and Surf’. I got burnt leather and the calamari was totally rubber, prawns were burnt. I asked for a bourbon and coke in a middy glass with lots of ice…. I got a bourbon and coke with one ice block in a tiny glass. Service and food were disgraceful. There were 4 of us and every meal ordered was almost inedible at a cost of nearly $200 for the meals/drinks! Table next to us ordered a bottle of water and we were horrified to see the waitress carry it with her hand over the open neck of the bottle. NEVER AGAIN! I told family members and they said they’ve also been there and would have warned me against going! PASS
Absolutely appalled that the bistro is refusing my sisters, my mother and my aunties entry to dine in the restaurant for lunch on Melbourne Cup day because we have 2 babies and a 4 year old (very well behaved- even though that shouldn 't even be an issue for consideration). Karen told me that the day is an over 18 event and kids/babies are not allowed. We just wanted to have a meal in the bistro (not even the bar area) and celebrate a day that everyone else is able to celebrate (provided they are not parents of course- according to the ashby). Not only is this disgusting, it is a breach of anti discrimination laws and the Ashby should be embarrassed. My family and I were regulars here but will no longer set foot in there. I will be taking further action.
