Ok, firstly I will be going back. Went for dinner last night, very good service, friendly staff who were attentive but not in your face. So now for the BUT....the food was a little bit of a let down...ordered the Signature Gumbo, and I don;t know if the spices in it were not ground up properly, but it was gritty...so not pleasant to eat. The seafood, some of it was cooked well but some of the fish pieces were over cooked, no seasoning added, not like a gumbo should be. Other half ordered the pasta with slow cooked lamb, it was better but again lacked seasoning. Our daughter had the cheese pizza, and it was delicious! Lovely crust, cheesy, not too much sauce...excellent! So, I will be back, it has a great atmosphere and again, service very good BUT will stick to the pub classics, steak, shnitzy, burgers and pizza. I think sometimes places try and be what they are not....do what you do, do it well and leave the fancy stuff to the fine dining restaurants.

Attended site for a bday dinner for my partners bday. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was tasty as per. Generally happy with this place. You guys who prob's have had bad experiences are likely questionable bits of gear!Often get coffee from here on way to footy on sundys. Tastes like coffee. Niiice!

Great service from one of the two staff managing our section.The enthusiasm and helpful assistance from one of the staff was exactly what I expect from a venue like this. It was such a shame that she had to fix errors with the coffee order taken by her offsider.Coffee when it arrived wasn't great, pretty ordinary actuallyThe food seemed slow in arriving on this busy Sunday morning breakfast time.So to the food, firstly my gluten free order was delivered by a guy who we'd not seen before and handed over as the non gluten free serving and given to someone else, when the next dishes came to the table we realised their error so we had to swap our own plates around, this in itself could have been bad news.The eggs were well cooked, the bacon was not cooked anywhere near well enough and was soggy.For the price I was disappointed.Having heard and read mixed reviews of this place I may come back for a dinner to see how that stacks up.

We visited Casey Jones recently and the food was great though you can't say the same about the service. We ordered the Gumbo and it was excellent however we had to ask for a spoon and a bowl for the shells. Also I'm not sure why the beer list is on a small chalk board that you have to go and look at, they don't bring it to your table. The food was good and so were the local beers and it was good to have some live music. We will be back, I hope the service has improved by then.

Passing thru Canberra we decided to stop and grab some dinner. We shared the bland chicken wings and a awful pizza. Definitely not a Gastropub, only positive was, the service was good.

Went to have a brunch at this establishment at the Casey shops, unfortunately despite the nice setting the coffee was slow and the food was ok , we made a request for some butter but they had none.. ah well I am sure the beer is good

Excellent service and food. The staff were great and brought out the cake lit up with candles and beautifully set up. The meals were generous and delicious. Happy to recommend Casey Jones for a quiet drink or a family function.
