Nestled in a decent enough selection of eateries, Ogawa is the new kid on the block. Well, this is based off eating delivery from here so not much can be said from its looks - this is pretty brand new as of writing. So let's get into it, this is a good find nonetheless.   Just between having a WWE pay-per-view event to watch (this time it was a short and sweet Backlash) and a personal training session booked in, there was enough time for the former and thus enough time to get some home delivery. Again, for the very few who do manage to follow both - the previous specials of "TakeOver Brooklyn", and "SummerSlam" I did manage to watch them but without the usual arrangements. At the time the nieces were staying over and it managed to be more chaotic around the house. You take what you have sometimes, and prepare for curve-balls. Back onto topic - Ogawa. This time with the delivery, I went a bit outside Menulog. Using different search tactics, I managed to come across some more local options which did do delivery and were open around lunch-time. Calling this place up, I checked about the delivery and it were possible - and good news. Making the arrangements, the time was earlier than first proposed which more or less meant less time between tasting this fantastic fare. Making a phone call naturally was an opportunity to assess the customer service in better detail and this is one place that they are working out just fine. The lady on the phone was really good, very polite and had a good level of customer service. The arrangements for ordering and delivery time went very well and it all would have been over and done with in less than five minutes. Quick and clean, that was. Adding onto that for a bonus was the the food arrived with the takeaway menu - that is a good incentive for more orders in the future. The menu is a basic selection of Japanese cuisines. The variety is of that for the numerous hole-in-the-walls found around the central area, added on with a bigger selection in each variety. That is sushi plus a good lot of fusion rolls, a few noodle dishes, nearly two dozen kinds of donburi, a bunch of side dishes and some tea to go with it all. With it that concentrated, and that audience pleasing, you are bound to have some of the best tasting Japanese in town - and for that you would be correct. Placing in the order, the idea was to get a decent taste for what this place had to offer. That meant a meal, try some of their sushi and perhaps another item or so. Starting off with their mainstay, the sushi, I tossed up what to get because they all sounded so good. What I decided on in the end was the Alaska roll. At least for this one, don't be too wary about the price since it was a decent length and had a fair few pieces. Also each piece was fairly sizable as a portion. This sushi roll was filled with salmon, cucumber and avocado, and topped with fresh salmon and streaks of teriyaki sauce. It was really good, and with the salmon what we are talking about is fairly thick slices of it on top - this was tender, good quality salmon that had only a slightly strong flavour. The rice was well cooked, had a little bit of apparent vinegar mixed throughout. Inside, the combination of avocado, cucumber and salmon respectively added a good mixture of cream, crunch, and flavour. It was pretty substantial, and nearly a meal in itself. Finally I get around to ordering a sushi roll, and it is recommended from here at the very least. For the main part of the meal, I went for the karage don. On top of a bed of rice, it had chicken karage, mixed with Japanese mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce and it came with a side salad. The best way to describe the salad is that it was essentially version of coleslaw. This was one time the rice did not seem to be too much in comparison to the rest of the donburi, particularly not the meat part. The sauce mixture was tasty, adding the distinct flavours of teriyaki into the creaminess of the mayonnaise made for something that was unusual, and mixed well into the rice. They were very kind with how much chicken they put in, and this was tender bits that were well battered and cooked, plus the irregular shapes helped show it was freshly done. Mixing in the coleslaw just completed it all - some more crunch to it. This donburi has made nearly every Japanese chicken curry I have had be left in the dust. Last, and if least certainly no indication on its part, was the takoyaki. There is essentially nothing else to say that has not already been said in antecedent consumption of these guys that could indicate what these ones were like. Basically, hot and tasty, maybe a bit more doughy than usual, and the octopus meat was definitely apparent. Really good eaten hot, and the shavings and sauce make it all the better. Again, it proves unbeaten as a winner. Also in ordering, I went to try my luck if there was any green tea available. They offer bot the hot and iced variety, and I was after the latter. If you have had one of the bottled iced teas before, this was more or less one of them. However, they may have a fair bit of sugar in them; this one had absolutely none. It had the distinct taste of green tea - not really bitter nor astringent but something along that line - and it was in cold form. It was a refreshing beverage. The only real thing left to say about this place is that it is well above average, and does all that is needed right. All the food was on a good caliber, the service was pretty good and it looks to be off to a good start. With a great delivery service and enough good news about it, I can foretell that this place will start doing well quite soon.

I ordered the chicken katsudon, a serve of karaage and a serve of the takoyaki. Called and ordered pickup and was quoted 15 minutes, the perfect amount of time for walking from my house (good incentive to order here more). The place is fairly small, can fit a medium size group in there but it didn't feel cramped. The women working there were very friendly, good customer service usually reflects on the quality of food as well. The chicken katsudon was incredible. Perfectly cooked chicken, perfectly cooked rice. The sauce is unforgettable and the addition of egg just completes this beautiful dish. The karaage was also beautiful, crispy, tender, with the japanese mayo we all love. Now, takoyaki is definitely something you either love or hate, and boy do I love a good takoyaki. The batter was perfect, the octopus cooked just to the right amount. I was absolutely full after eating almost everything. This little place got me a filling meal that was beautifully cooked for just over $20, so I'm definitely coming back!

Brilliant food and fantastic value. Spicy where it should be. Kids loved the food too, which is rare. Will definitely make this a regular feeding hole.
