I personally didn't like the take away meals I ordered from this place. Unfortunately, they were quite plain and no vegetables were thrown in the mix like other Thai restaurants do for the same dishes. I ordered from Bang Luck through a delivery service (UberEATS) so I didn't get the opportunity to experience the service here.

I must admit i enjoyed Alex Lee Kitchen. On delivery. The roti canai travelled extremely well and was still warm, crisp and buttery. I loved the curry sauce and the sambal. Curry sauces were balanced and bright and i loved whatever it was that contained the cabbage pieces. Sambal was rich and satisfying. For one who doesn't often opt for rice, I found the rice in the Chatterbox Chicken rice incredibly morish. The chicken in this was unbelievably tender also. I loved the delicate broth. Delicious! crumbs-au.com

Ordered food at 5.48 for delivery at 6.30pm. By 7pm food had not arrived so checked Deliveroo which indicated it had arrived at 6.33. When we called deliveroo they explained that the restaurant had told them the food had already been delivered, which it had not. A new order was placed and our order arrived at 7.30pm. The crispy pork belly rice was extremely soft and undercooked with zero crackling and the roti dish was missing the actual roti. Tried to call restaurant direct but none of their numbers were active so couldn't speak to anyone. Extremely disappointing.

I ordered the Penang char Kway Teow at Old Jim Kee and it tasted really bad. The flat rice noodle was overcooked and mushy. A little advice for the chef is to add the flat rice noodle last so that it remains springy when you serve them.

Old Jim Kee in the thriving area that is Kensington Street in Chippendale in spice alley is serving Malaysian street food. From hokien noodles to sambal, there's plenty of options for Malay lovers! I got the Bee Hoon Goreng: stir fried rice vermicelli noodles with prawns, chicken, onion and egg and bean sprouts. Big serving for a cheap price! Very flavoursome. aroundtheclockfoodie.com

Had the nasi goreng which was very bland, I don't think I have ever had an Asian dish this tasteless. My wife agreed and pointed out that there was almost no salt. I also had a salt and pepper chicken wing which was also underseasoned. Others have mentioned the slow service which I agree is slow. Plenty of staff in the kitchen and few customers does not translate to short wait time unfortunately.
