I went to Opera Dining on coupon from LivingSocial for $49 for a three course meal for two people with a shared entree, individual mains and individual desserts (good because I’m certainly not sharing my dessert!) My first observation of the restaurant was that it was almost empty (with only 2 other tables) and pretty bleak for a Saturday night. The restaurant was in need of a serious makeover and decor upgrade and to be honest, reminded me of the type of restaurants that you see on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. There were candles on the table which were never lit for us, and the evening really could have used that extra ambience. The evening also would have benefited from a bit of heat, as the door never closed fully, so the outside chill made its way into the dining room. Thankfully, the food was a step up from the ambience. It didn’t start strong though with the salt and pepper squid entree (below). It’s been awhile since I’ve had salt and pepper squid that was so far from crispy and well, they just didn’t taste all that fresh... Used Groupon voucher for four people. Ordered tomato bruschetta for starter and antipasto plate for entree. Quantity and quality were excellent. Mains order included Scottish fillet, barramundi, lamb shoulder and chicken involtini. Very surprised about the quality for chicken involotini. Excellent combination of flavour and texture. Dessert was mango creme brulee. The dessert was decent but preferred more mango pieces in dessert. Enjoyable night with excellent customer service.

Good quality of food and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff. It may not be the most authentic Italian food you would have expected but the food is fresh and in large portions.

Went to this restaurant using a voucher from Living social. Wasn't expecting much as the restaurant was very quiet when we went during lunch on a Saturday, however the food was very nice and well cooked. Service was quite attentive and the music played was pleasant to the ears.

Used the groupon special of $39 for 2 people with my mum and tried Opera Dining on the bustling Pacific Hwy. The atmosphere was not the greatest, with aircon not turned on until I walked on (making the room quite stuffy at the beginning). The tables didn't look particularly clean or formally organised by placement.  The waitress however was nice to explain how the groupon worked. Essentially, we could order an entree and dessert to share, along with one main each, to make up our 3 course meal. On a high level, the entree of vegetable frittata did not taste completely fresh, and only seemed reheated. The main of chicken risotto did not taste like a normal risotto should and the chicken was too big in pieces and dry, the salmon dish didn't have any issues with my mum. The mango creme brulee dessert was not too fresh, and the mango pieces were unevenly distributed in the brulee, along with the ice cream tasting like ordinary home brand.  Overall, the price was very cheap, but the atmosphere and quality of food shows there is room for improvement!
