Go to the east in Japanese. Delicious food, good atmosphere and near transport. The karage is especially good and the Agadashi Tofu. Would recommend for friends, first dates etc. good idea to book as it is busy.

If it's not broken - don't fix it..... I (used to) eat at Yachiyo regularly. It was a local favourite. Food excellent, staff knowledgeable and engaging. So it was somewhat surprise when we went there last Friday (31/3/17) to see  each table featuring one or two ipads - scrolling images of food and drink. From these - customers now get to choose food and place orders directly to the kitchen. When our wait person came - we ordered sake (manually). We tried to engage about the menu - to be told to look at the ipad. Having made choices, she then leaned over us to place them via ipad (it was not intuitive) for four items. Two of these four items arrived almost immediately. I asked that they slow down the other two. Unfortunately - it seems that "computer says NO...". Our third dish arrived straight after. When I asked if they could hold it back, the waitress - in no uncertain terms - said NO. Meanwhile - our sake didn't arrive (I assume manual orders are now overlooked). We had to request it again...). I need not continue - you can guess how the rest of the meal went. Management - you may think the new computerised system is an enhancement. A new and exciting way to engage with customers. An improvement. It is not... I urge (if you are reading this) - please go back to your old ways. What made Yachiyo so good, was the combination of food and service. The food was still great - however - the ipads and computerised supply chain are terrible. Your DNA has been destroyed. Your personality and charm - all but gone. Moving images on the table and all around in your peripheral vision is unrestful and incongruous. Overall - it does nothing to enhance the experience. It's like being in a fast food restaurant. Please get rid of them.... I will not dine at Yachiyo again if the ipads persist. Sorry....

I went to Sushi Yachiyo tonight after seeing a high rating in Zomato. Grief I ordered chicken Katsu Sushi, Gyoza and shrimp sushi. For the sushi I'm disappointed again because he is obvious that many, if not most sushi chefs in Sydney, could not complete the lowest and most basic tasks of cutting, compressing and preparing the sushi. Look at the photos, I did not understand why the sushi were unevenly in sizes and fall out the ingredients. Grief The Gyoza was not better. Tasteless and dry. It would be better if the kitchen check leeks, carrot, water chestnuts or other ingredients added to the Gyoza. Grief Grief Grief Grief Grief I would not be surprised if Zomato has a quotas of food about a specific rating needles or restaurants that zomato pay for higher reviews.

Overall very pleasant casual dining experience. Run by Japanese there is a mix of traditional Japanese cuisine dishes like sushi, sashimi, tempura plus some fusion like scallop & mushroom risotto. They have the usual menu plus changing blackboard specials. Very wide variety of dishes! Their sushi & sashimi was very fresh and the sushi rice was perfect. Also had the yuzu marinated tuna which was a nice subtle and distinct flavour. Their miso & wasabi salmon popcorn was also fried perfectly with a great balance of seasoning. Their home made sushi soy sauce was nice and thick although a bit too sweet for my liking. Liked how the place was busy but not too packed and didn't make us have a fixed slot to dine (unlike a lot of other popular places), so it's perfect for a group of friends or a romantic date where you can slowly order and eat over wine, beer or sake. It's an authentic, cute little jap eatery. Highly recommend!

A new friend of mine suggested to go to Sushi Yachiyo, and had good experiences in the past. I had not had a good Japanese food for some time, so I jumped eagerly to the opportunity. Grief Although it is clearly a well-known goods, my first impression was that it had a little picturesque, "hole-in-wall vibe. You could definitely imagine to push in this type of place if you are through the back Hiking all walks of a Japanese city! We arrived at 18:30 clock with a booking and sat immediately. It was quickly busy, so when planning to go, the booking would be careful! The service was fast and fast and fast Attentive (reasonable restrictions as he was revived), and I can recommend the service aspect of experience, as a whole,. Grief The lifestyle served in Sushi Yachiyo is focused on small plates (essentially tapas - Japanese style). In a very honest, we did not even look at the menus, as we were content in terms of content, order items from the large table wall. In short, the food was excellent - especially the seafood. The tuna belly, salmon belly and carpaccio were incredibly fresh and delicious and absolutely melted in their mouth! The scallop shell was a crispy, salty joy, and stronger with the Jacobsmann Sashimi, who was a bit more adventurous, but was still delicious. The salmon spindles and pork belly were also very good, though not so impressive as the mentioned dishes. The chocolate dessert was something of a novelty - though it looked like ice cream, it had a texture between a brownie and Fudge. Personally, I found it delicious, but if you are not a sweet tooth, you may find it a bit ill. Holistic, the food was extremely high quality, and I could not recommend it high enough. Grief The sake-tasting experience was also very pleasant - ask the manager (owner?), And he will tell you that you have a few dozen sake varieties. He will pick three, give everyone at the table a small taste of each (from a small shot glass), and then you can choose which one rather have in a small jug. This was a really good way to try out a few different varieties (the two of us tried nine different stuff / shared three jugs between us) ... a word for the wise, however - there is no dessert will - chocolate and sake are Two flavors that should never meet ... but that's all on me! Grief Overall, if you are looking for delicious and authentic Japanese food, Sushi Yachiyo will effectively saturate your appetite.
