Mediterranean Greek Tavern

We had our daughters Baptism at MGT and couldn't be happier with service and the food on the night. Everything was in great proportions and extremely fresh. We were made to feel a part of the family like a good greek household. We will be back many more times I can assure you. A must visit.

We had dinner here on Friday night for the first time and will definately return! Lovely fresh seafood and perfectly cooked lamb. Had a great chat with the staff too at the end of the night.

Firstly, this Greek establishment has been one of our favorites. having been there many times and taking & recommending friends to go there over some 5 years to savoir Melbourne's best Greek food and atmosphere at great prices. BUT........6 mths after our last visit and again introducing 4 overseas relatives - its just lost the plot,SERVIVE was Poor - 20 mins just to get a menu and a reserved table placed at access to the kitchen - constant traffic past our table, yet ignored requests for service.MENU - Ordered 4 Entrees and Cutlets Main plus Seafood Platter ONLY to be told that on a Saturday night you must order a main meal each!!!! Since when? New Boss's instruction. - DO we leave ? Do we need to eat that much? OK so we were coerced to order Entrees PLUS 2 platters for 3 People and ditch the Cutlets.FOOD: entrees good. Seafood & Meat Platters for 3 - good quality BUT all just thrown on the Plate.PRICE: Spent more than we wanted ( $100 Over our usual for 6 ); paid $100 per platter - yet menu had them @ $68 and forced to order more food than we wanted.So, NOW LOOKING FOR ANOTHER GOOD GREEK RESTAURANT. After visiting every other Greek restaurant in the area , i was very pleasantly surprised by the tavern. Great food at very reasonable prices . Good size portions too , loved background music , it was not intrusive and created the ambience . Overall , i say we had a very good birthday party there . Let me add also that , there is no corkage and plates for a cake were also provided free of charge . Thanks for making our party a memorable one .

From the moment you walk in... you're transported somewhere welcoming and home. The service was amazing. Food superb! The waiter timed everything magnificently and the chef was smiling, friendly and made conversation. If you're looking for something superb and special...This is the place. My mouth is still watering.

On our hollidays from Europa to Melbourne, we just had a piece of greece.We just loved the atmosphere of White and blue. The food was beautiful. Just loved the plat of dip. The fish was fresh and nice, so tasty. We want to come back.

.My husband & I came here expecting big things after having read the reviews and ….we were definitely not disappointed!We ordered the mixed banquet, which included both a meat and seafood platter, which had the freshest & tastiest seafood made up of grilled fish, calamari, oysters & prawns accompanied by a Greek salad. The meat part of the platter included lamb chops, biftekia & souvlaki and also was very tasty.The fish was cooked to perfection; it almost melted in my mouth. The banquet commenced with a plate of four dips accompanied by delicious Turkish bread, saganaki, marinated peppers, pickled octopus & white baitThe food was in abundance and we certainly left there feeling extremely satisfied. We noticed also that the meals came out quickly, despite there being only one main chef in the kitchen. There seemed to be food on every table within a short time of patrons ordering their meals. Despite a full house and there being only 2 waiters, the staff managed all the tables without anyone feeling neglected. Thanks for a great night Perry!We will definitely be back here to enjoy some more of the delicious offerings available. We have already recommended this place to many of our friends
