Little Flinders

First of all this place is not easy to find.

Situated on the corner of Exhibition street and Flinders lane, in the Collins Place complex, Little Flinders can be easy to miss.

My wife and I had lunch at Little Flinders yesterday and we really enjoyed our meal. The Chicken Parma was nicely cooked and piping hot to the last mouthful. The accompanying Greek Salad was nice without being too special. The Grilled Fish and Chips was also very well cooked and both the chips and fish were piping hot too.The restaurant is tricky to find and the best entrance is into Collins Place via Exhibition Street and immediately turn right to enter the restaurant even though the address is Flinders Lane

Located in a little hidden spot with sneaky entrance under Collins Place, Little Flinders does great lunch specials. I always love the veggie burger (not a vegetarian myself so this shows how delicious theirs is). Lovely bun topped with smashed avocado, haloumi, crumbed mushroom, lettuce and tomato. Served with yummy chips, tomato sauce it is quite a filling lunch. They do a great express lunch special including a glass of wine, beer or soft drink for $15. Great deal. Quick service but not the type of horrid rushed feeling. A definite great venue

First of all this place is not easy to find. Maybe it's because I'm not local but it is NOT signed Little Flinders out the front - it's called Tazio Birraria. For those like me who might miss it and spend 15 mins walking around the block - it's the one on the corner of Flinders Lane and Exhibition Street. Good thing we didn't give up searching for it (nearly did) because the coffee was probably one of the best coffees I've had in Melbourne. The barista lady was extremely friendly and whipped up the most amazing mocha. Food was good as well, nothing too creative, a bit traditional and the portion wasn't huge. You can tell that the place turns into something else in the evenings as the decor is more suited to after work events, so maybe breakfast isn't its forte. Still good though.

For something as important and as special as celebrating an engagement you want to find the perfect venue. It's not easy, you look at what feels like a million venues. You want somewhere with a fab location, great food and somewhere that won't break the bank ( or take too much of a dent into your house deposit fund!). Little Flinders is that place. We held our engagement party here the other weekend and it was everything we had hoped for. The planning prior the the event could not have been easier or more stress free. The owner Ray and I sat down with a glass of wine and he helped plan every conceivable detail . The venue booked our DJ for us and even organised the balloons we wanted (L O V E) in metre high silver. We got so many messages the next day raving about the amazing food (there was so much!) and the brilliant bar and wait staff. We had the most amazing night!!

Nice to find this place in Collins Place. I had the pancakes which were nice and my boyfriend had the Flinders breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed. The coffee was great. Service was good too.
