Such a cheerful lady making coffee when I came through. This place has been around for ever, maybe longer. Don't expect fancy decor, but do come in and enjoy.

Extremely disappointed. I am a regular customer at the austral, nearly everyday. My dog Bluey, he's very old and very attached to me so he needs to see where I am. I was unable to sit outside with him today as those tables were occupied so I sat inside and sat him outside the door to one side so he could still see me. He was not in anyone's way, there was plenty of room for people to walk past, and he was not inside the shop, but the shop owner came over and told me to move him out of the door way. I had to finish off my coffee quickly and left half of my breakfast behind just so my dog would not become too anxious. I am homeless and unable to leave my dog somewhere safe when I go out for breakfast. The owners know full well of me living on the streets and there was no reason why my dog could not stay where he was while I finished my breakfast. It doesn't matter why I'm homeless, nobody knows the full story behind my situation, and I don't believe that anybody else would be asked to move their dog as I have seen many dogs outside the Austral cafe. They have lost a regular customer.
