Satchmo Café

Fantastic little cafe which serves very different brunch items. The menu is so varied that I want to go back a few times to try it all. On this instance I had a slice of the Chocolate Babka which was warmed and heavenly. I also tried the big cookie - it has the shape of half a bun with half vanilla icing and half chocolate icing. Turned it out it was just crunchy cookie on the inside but it was still great - crumbly and not dry. It's a little cramed inside and gets a bit chilly because they keep the door wide open. On Sunday mornings there's a little guitar duet outside which is nice background if you're not too close.

Beautiful place. Great food. Atmosphere is fantastic and a good variety of vegetarian options are available. Coffee is good and staff are all lovely

Love how Satchmo offers food that has a splash of good difference from the ordinary brunch menus; makes it standout from the other cafes around. First time we came, we tried the Balsamic Roasted Mushrooms and Toast with Trio; nice presentation and good flavours. Eggs with Salmon is a little bland, but the BAGELS are a bomb! They do make changes to their menu every now and then, which is great. Gotta try their Mississippi Special and Blueberry Blitzes.  Fantastic coffee, heartwarming food & friendly service; makes us come back for more.

Breakfast food and drinks were fine, and the menu has a decent range of dishes. Ambiance was pleasant, albeit a little chilly at 8am on a fresh autumn morning. Pity there's no table service - you even have to get your own water, cutlery and P&S. Kinda spoils some of the fun of going out to eat if you have to get up from the table multiple times to order and to get basic table items. Such is Perth, lamentably.

If you book a table, they will give it to someone else! Would give 0 stars if we could. We booked a table of 4 for breakfast. Reservation confirmed by email. Arrived at Satchmo 8 minutes late. Waited in line at the counter for 5 minutes to be informed that our table was no longer available. Coffee guy was rude. Was told to wait, we waited. And waited. We ended up walking out. All tables were taken. Make us wait for a table to become available when we have made a booking?? Will never return. No way to run a business!
