My first time visiting Din Tai Fung at World Square and after a bit of navigating, I managed to find my way to the restaurant. It is located on the upper level so its easiest to head up from George St vs Goulburn St (FYI). We ordered quite a bit from the menu as we were a group of 12, the highlight for me was the Spicy Pork and Prawn Dumplings with Noodles, Silken Tofu with Pork Floss and Century Egg (something different) and Xiao Long Bao. The remainder of what we tried was standard with one dumpling (wasn't sure what it was as I wasn't in control of the tablets) being the exception it was unfortunately bland and tasteless. Upon arrival we had to wait an extra 5 to 10 minutes for our table (not a problem) and was presented with 2 tablets for ease of ordering. I can understand the concept and the reasoning but it resulted in over ordering (by a lot) and multiple double up of dishes which saw us leaving with 8 containers of food. My recommendation is for the venue to ask if 2 is required beforehand to eliminate excess food wastage (we were lucky some were heading home after dinner that could take home the extras) I have given the venue a generous 4 because overall we had a good meal, they have a home delivery option (frozen dumplings/noofles etc) if you want a mid week fix from home and we werent rushed to consume our meal to free up space

Went there Friday 29/7. Order online using iPad. Meals are delivered by a robot that is about 80 decibels too loud when it speaks. This gives staff the excuse to ignore patrons (I spilt my jasmine tea and needed help cleaning up and getting the attention of staff walking past with their blinkers on required waving and shouting). Food was excellent, toilets were ho hum (a very good test of cleanliness). Good food alone doesn’t rate it for me there is better around at cheaper prices.

Been hearing a lot of good things about this place and consequently, I've been having dumpling cravings! So finally decided to visit on a Thursday night. It was a 35 minute wait for 2 people, but time passed quite quickly since we were given the menu to choose what we wanted to eat. It also didn't hurt that there were lots of seats outside to sit on while we waited haha :P  We decided to go with the staple Xiao Long Bao, some dumplings in chilli sauce (forgot what it was called but it was from the appetisers ^^") and the Crumbed Chicken with fried rice. The dumplings tasted great, I especially liked how the pastry wasn't too thick and was nice and silky. I wasn't particularly wow'd by any of them though. The stand out dish was by far the chicken and fried rice. The chicken was fried so well, was so soft and the fried rice was flavoured very well and balanced with the chicken.  Price wise, I agree with the main consensus in that they are quite expensive for the serving sizes. I would say the price was only justified for the fried rice, everything else was a little bit of a splurge but we went in knowing that it wasn't cheap. Would go back for the fried rice and to try out some other dumplings :)

Overpriced and disappointed with the quality, especially the Xiao Long Bao. It was good earlier and recently the quality has gone. There are other better choices and better value. Not worth the hype. Tried the multi colored Xiao Long Bao, who was a limited edition. It really tasted uncomfortable and noted the management stick to what they are good.

Vegan and vegetarian menu available. I had Chinese tea, which was very good, and then I had a vegan food - the plant wontons with a chili sauce and pasta, which was absolutely incredible. The Wontons had basil and tofu, and the sauce was hot out of the chilli, but also so full of taste, and I do not know what else was there, but it was life-good food! I will definitely return soon. However, ask to book a table as it is very full at night.

I always liked DTF, but now it's love and I will go back so much! They have a vegetarian / vegan menu where you can ask, and the selection is quite impressive. We tried the dumplings, bread rolls, spicy noodles and garlic spinach. Grief The noodles were so delicious. So so delicious. Not too sharp, and it was more a peppery spice than Chili. I have returned to DTF again and ordered it again. Dumplings were pleasant, as well as the bread rolls. The sweet rolls are pretty nice. Grief The world square position is pretty big, so there are many seating, and I found it easily easy to get a place for lunch. Grief Very pleasant, albeit sorta expensive food for lunch.

This is a dumpling house. The service is very efficient, atmosphere is zero, the food is good and you go completely full without breaking the bank. The Potsticker were a highlight. A great place for a quick and easy meal.
